Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose, please proceed through Customs, collect your baggage and proceed to the Arrivals hall. Here you will find a local representative holding a sign with your name on it. This representative will then lead you to an awaiting vehicle which will then whisk you away to your hotel in San Jose.

After breakfast, meet your private driver and set out on a picturesque journey from San Jose to the remarkable Hacienda AltaGracia, nestled in the mountains of Perez Zeledon. Following breakfast, it is time to bid farewell to AltaGracia and settle in for a private transfer to Golfito. Upon arrival to Golfito, staff with Playa Cativo Lodge will be waiting for you, and will soon welcome you aboard a nearby boat for a scenic 30-minute water transfer to the lodge, an eco-luxury haven tucked away in the rainforest. Here you will spend the next three nights in harmony with nature, enjoying pristine beaches, unparalleled tranquility and spectacular hospitality.

Today you'll be picked up from the lodge and then set sail on a shared boat tour with an aim to spot dolphins and whales. This region is host to one of just four tropical fjords in the world, and as you might expect, houses a fantastic array of sea creatures. In all probability, you will see at least one of the two species of dolphin that call this uniquely protected part of the Pacific home, and from July to November, there are regular sightings of Humpback whales. As night falls, you'll set out on a guided nocturnal rainforest hike with fellow guests of Playa Cativo, learning about how the rainforest transforms after the sun sets. 

Today is yours to enjoy at leisure. Perhaps you'll want to make use of the kayaks, stand-up paddleboards or snorkelling gear included during your stay at Playa Cativo Lodge. And with a wide range of self-guided hiking trails, there will also be plenty of time for exploring this pristine part of the world. Or perhaps you'll simply kick up your feet and relax under the palms.

Your adventure continues today after breakfast with the return boat transfer to Golfito. Following disembarkation, pass on a fond farewell to the team with Playa Cativo Lodge and join your awaiting driver for a private transfer to the serene, picture perfect outskirts of Uvita, where you'll find your accommodations for the next three nights.

Explore the wonders of the region further with a 4x4 tour alongside other guests of the hotel to the Nauyaca Waterfalls. Here you'll hike to a gorgeous natural wonder made up of two cascades. The first waterfall has a 45 meter (roughly 150 foot) free fall, while the second measures 20 meters (approximately 65 feet). Amid the cascades is a gentle pool of water that makes for the ideal rainforest oasis for swimming and paddling. After enjoying this splendid experience, you'll be returned to your hotel.
